New Bambu A1 3d printer
I finally got a 3d printer. I tried making a centering jig for a leather belt. It printed perfectly. But when I assembled it, the snaps to join the jig broke. What? One hour of printing and a big failure. I should have read the comments. PLA (the plastic thread) that I was using was not suggested. They recommended ABS plastic, which is stronger. I should have known.
Anyway, I'm making some bump jigs right now, that should be easy (they just finished, I heard the "ding"). So I'll have to let the bed cool, and I can take them off the plate in a few minutes once everything has cooled down to 50C.
I only paid ~$300 for this Bambu Labs A1 printer. I got two reels of black PLA plastic thread for around $25 on Amazon. Well, everything I got was from Amazon. You can't beat the delivery.
So hopefully I can make some more tools for my leathercrafting, next will be a handle for a utility knife blade. We'll see how that goes. Lot's of parts.
